It's our honor to have four guests tonight. Bamboo Tsai is a vocational
school teacher. Emily Chen and Julia Tseng are from Chiayi City Government.
Glaven Chen, from CTC (Chang Hwa Toastmasters Club), has just started his
teaching career in Sing-
Hwa Senior
High School in Chiayi. CYTC warmly welcomed them to visit and join the meeting.
Dean, our former President attended tonight’s meeting. It’s been a
long time since we last saw Dean and Annie. Annie, our former Treasurer and Vice President Membership, delivered her twin-baby
boys in July. Congratulations! Best wishes to the sweet family!
There were three speakers tonight. Andy
delivered his C5, Tommy C6, and Martha A24. All were qualified. Time flies. Andy
joined CYTC last year. He is going to accomplish his military service in
Chaiyi and will continue his further studies in the US in the near future. Andy is
creative, humorous, enthusiastic and always wears a beautiful smile. We wish Andy a bright future. CYTC will miss Andy a
lot for sure.
TM Vincent did an outstanding job. GE David
and his evaluation team – Grammarian Karla, Ah counter Sophia, Timer John
performed pretty well. Angela, Ashley, and Ricky were wonderful individual
evaluators. Joke Telling master Berry shared humorous jokes along with
some other club members’. Table Topics master Ross offered an insightful table
topic “Green Earth” which called for earnest, enthusiastic responses.
Important brief business discussions regarding the club’s yearly budget and membership building as well as new
member recruitment were followed. Further detailed discussion and any constructive

Treasurer Berry’s enthusiasm and dedicated support are much appreciated!

Congratulations! Three distinguished guests were new born babies
tonight: Bamboo Tsai, Emily Chen, and Julia Tseng. Meanwhile, Glaven Chen transferred
from Chang Hwa Toastmasters Club to CYTC. We warmly welcomed guest Ms. 鄧琪縈 as well.
Vincent’s A7 speech, the up-to-date topic “TNR” (Trap, Neuter,
Release) informed the audience about the problem of rabies encountered more
seriously than ever before in Taiwan .
The information called for more concern for strayed animals, and the need to protect
animals from rabies through TNR rather than euthanasia. Ross’s A19 speech -- “The
Lady of Chimpanzee” -- was about the life and important contribution of the legendary
and widely admired scientist Dr. Jane Goodall who studies chimpanzees in Africa for most of her life. The inspiring speech won the
audience’s appreciation with respect for the honorable Lady of Chimpanzee.
GE Sophia and her evaluation team – Grammarian
Dean, Ah Counter Angela, Timer Tommy performed pretty well. Individual
evaluators Martha and Karla gave constructive feedback. Joke Telling master,
Tommy and some members shared humorous jokes. TM Ashley performed creatively
and had her own style. Firstly, she started with a timely issue – “Rain”, as
well as a brief survey. The survey was to have the audience think of to what
extent they like the rainy days. Later on, Table Topic master David offered
related topics, such as “Things you like to do most during typhoons and rainy
days”. The audience shared experiences and responded earnestly.
Before the adjournment, TM Ashley brought the
audience back to the survey and disclosed the answers. Depending on one’s
personality, individual responses might be very different. The audience was
curious and interested in the results. The “Raining Song”
brought and taught by Ashley on the spot through audio-visual reached the climax.
Members and guest enjoyed and sang happily together. Throughout, the meeting
was conducted dynamically.
The follow-up discussion regarding the club’s
yearly budget was the focus. Thanks for Treasurer Berry’s professional skills,
the computerized framework helped to figure out how to sustain and conduct CYTC’s
yearly budget plan more wisely. Further details regarding the membership fee
will be announced accordingly.

CYTC senior member, recently transferred her elementary school teaching in Taipei to Ming Zu Elementary School in Chiayi City .

In his C7 speech -- “What Kind of
Transportation You Choose?”, Tommy uses the collected information, including specific
facts, statistics as well as anecdotes to support his points and opinions of
people’s favorite transportation mode and system. Ashley’s A4 speech, “First
Love” tells about a love story of a young man and a lady. Ashley is good at
telling a touching love story through the learned techniques: vocal variety,
role-playing, gestures, eye contact, and the vivid pictures depicted. Ross’s
A20 “Charter NCYU Campus Club” is in the spotlight. Being the prospective Charter
President of NCYU Toastmasters Club, Ross is skillful and good at communicating
his mission and vision of chartering a new campus Toastmasters club to the
audience. He emphasizes on the core values he treasures as a Toastmaster:
sincerity, responsibilities, and passion. The audience is attracted and interested
in the inspiring speech.
TM David performed
successfully. GE Karla and her evaluation team – Grammarian Martha, Ah Counter Berry,
Timer Catherine, individual evaluators Vincent, Dean, and Angela performed pretty

In her C2 speech -- “How about Surfing a
Couch in Your Trip?”, Catherine shares her personal traveling experience which
is more entertaining and less expensive than the modes that the travel agencies
commonly provide. Dean’s A9 -- “Devoted”, is a touching story about the loving
father Dick Hoyt and his son Rick Hoyt who suffered from brainy
paralysis since childhood. The wheelchair marathon champion never gives up. And
the great, loving Father’s patience, support and encouragement helps the
miracle come true! Dean is a skillful story teller. The emotional tones, body
language, spontaneous role play attract the audience, plus the vivid pictures
of the boy’s sweet family. It’s so true that the story is not only emotional, but
also inspirational. In “Building the Check-In Team for 2013 Fall Conference, D67” , Martha foretells one of the three major
duties that CYTC is going to commit and support 2013 Fall Conference, D67. The
other two duties include “Registration” and “Award Preparation”. The big event
