Glaven Chen, from CTC (Chang Hwa Toastmasters Club), has just started his teaching career in Sing- Hwa Senior High School in Chiayi. CYTC warmly welcomed them to visit and join the meeting.

There were three speakers tonight. Andy delivered his C5, Tommy C6, and Martha A24. All were qualified. Time flies. Andy joined CYTC last year. He is going to accomplish his military service in Chaiyi and will continue his further studies in the US in the near future.       Congratulations! Three distinguished guests were new born babies tonight: Bamboo Tsai, Emily Chen, and Julia Tseng. Meanwhile, Glaven Chen transferred from Chang Hwa Toastmasters Club to CYTC. We warmly welcomed guest Ms. 鄧琪縈 as well.
Vincent’s A7 speech, the up-to-date topic “TNR” (Trap, Neuter, Release) informed the audience about the problem of rabies encountered more seriously than ever before in Taiwan. The information called for more concern for strayed animals, and the need to protect animals from rabies through TNR rather than euthanasia. Ross’s A19 speech -- “The Lady of Chimpanzee” -- was about the life and important contribution of the legendary and widely admired scientist Dr. Jane Goodall who studies chimpanzees in Africa for most of her life. The inspiring speech won the audience’s appreciation with respect for the honorable Lady of Chimpanzee.
GE Sophia and her evaluation team – Grammarian Dean, Ah Counter Angela, Timer Tommy performed pretty well. Individual evaluators Martha and Karla gave constructive feedback. Joke Telling master, Tommy and some members shared humorous jokes. TM Ashley performed creatively and had her own style. Firstly, she started with a timely issue – “Rain”, as well as a brief survey. The survey was to have the audience think of to what extent they like the rainy days. Later on, Table Topic master David offered related topics, such as “Things you like to do most during typhoons and rainy days”. The audience shared experiences and responded earnestly.
Before the adjournment, TM Ashley brought the audience back to the survey and disclosed the answers. Depending on one’s personality, individual responses might be very different. The audience was curious and interested in the results. The “Raining Song” brought and taught by Ashley on the spot through audio-visual reached the climax. Members and guest enjoyed and sang happily together. Throughout, the meeting was conducted dynamically.
The follow-up discussion regarding the club’s yearly budget was the focus. Thanks for Treasurer Berry’s professional skills, the computerized framework helped to figure out how to sustain and conduct CYTC’s yearly budget plan more wisely. Further details regarding the membership fee will be announced accordingly.
